Driven by curiosity, passion, and relentless dedication, Pasquale Tommaselli discovered the world of bonsai in 2017, when a desire to reconnect with nature led him to purchase his first trees. What began as a simple interest soon evolved into a deep fascination. He immersed himself in research, joined the Modena bonsai club, and traveled to exhibitions, where something unexpected captured his imagination, not only the trees, but the stands that supported and elevated them.

With a background in interior design and a foundation in woodworking passed down from his father, a professional carpenter, he felt a natural calling to create bonsai stands himself. From 2019 onward, he dedicated himself to studying the aesthetic rules of bonsai display, researching museum-level examples, and consulting respected bonsai masters across Italy. Their encouragement, and constructive criticism, pushed him to refine his artistic vision.

His approach has always remained clear: to craft unique, high-value stands using exceptional woods with distinctive character, often materials overlooked by large workshops but treasured for their rarity and beauty. Each stand is personally designed in dialogue with the client, always ensuring the true protagonist remains the bonsai itself.

In 2020 his work reached the public through the launch of Disciplina Bonsai, receiving outstanding appreciation in a community traditionally rooted in centuries-old aesthetics. Soon his creations began traveling beyond Italy, followed by the introduction of handcrafted jita made from responsibly sourced wood. By 2023, his stands were featured beneath award-winning bonsai at The Trophy Bonsai exhibition, as well as at the UBI Congress in Foligno, where he presented an elegant, large-scale stand crafted from rare pearwood.

Looking ahead, his goal is simple yet ambitious: to continually evolve, embrace innovation with respect for tradition, and offer enthusiasts the opportunity to display their bonsai through the highest expression of craftsmanship and artistic vision.
