Description
This suiseki stone by Franco Mauri, Italian artist based in Monza, brings together natural form and refined craftsmanship.
The stone, originally sourced from Indonesia, was selected for its expressive presence and balanced silhouette. Its surface bears the marks of time and natural erosion, offering texture and depth without excess, in keeping with traditional suiseki aesthetics.
To complete the presentation, Mauri carved a custom daiza in koto wood, shaped to follow the stone’s natural contours with precision and restraint. The warm tone of the wood creates a quiet contrast with the stone, grounding it visually while allowing the form to remain the focus.
The piece is sold together with its kiribako box, made for safe storage and respectful presentation. This combination—stone, daiza, and box—forms a complete and considered work, suitable for long-term appreciation and traditional display.
