Bonsai Stand n.5 – “Stream”

This stand started from a tree felled close to home. Pasquale Tomaselli of Disciplina Bonsai made it from Canaletto walnut sourced from local, non-intensive felling, and left the wood in its natural colour under a satin finish.

It works on two levels: a long, low base (51 × 14 cm) that runs out like water, and a small raised top (15 × 14 cm) carried by a curving support. A small tree sits up high; the lower plane can take a stone, an accent plant, or stay empty. The empty space is part of the composition.

The wood was treated against woodworm and fungi before shaping.

Ships in a protective plywood box lined with insulating material. Lift the stand by its frame or from under the top, never by the legs, and keep it dry: water your tree somewhere else and wipe off any drops straight away. One of one.
