Description
Straight blades for clean lines
A two-handed hedge shear from Nishigaki, made in Japan, with straight 200 mm blades. It is the tool for flat faces and sharp edges: squaring a hedge, levelling a topiary surface, trimming back the season’s growth in one even pass.
Balance before power
At 725 mm and 970 g it is light for its length, and the weight sits close to the hands. That balance is what lets you work a long hedge without the shears pulling your wrists down.
C50 steel and Japanese oak
The blades are C50 carbon steel hardened to 58 HRC and ground to a very fine edge that cuts cleanly and holds it for a long time. The handles are Japanese oak.
Care
Clean the blades after use and now and then wipe them with a cloth and a few drops of camellia oil. Keep the shears dry: carbon steel rusts in damp.
