This Juniperus sabina entered my collection in 2019, already carrying the unmistakable character of age and the refined touch of earlier craftsmanship. Estimated to be around 120 years old, the tree shows the enduring strength and resilience typical of sabina junipers, with its textured bark, dynamic movement, and expressive deadwood.

The tree is displayed in a Tokoname container, paired with an Italian Araki, creating a balanced and elegant composition that enhances both structure and presence. Standing 75 cm tall with a nebari of 20 cm, the tree commands attention while maintaining the subtle, natural grace that defines the species.

Since acquiring it, the focus has been on careful refinement—respecting the tree’s mature form while enhancing its silhouette, foliage structure, and overall flow. The result is a juniper that combines age, artistry, and quiet strength, a living sculpture shaped by nature and guided by thoughtful human hands.
